My wife thinks I'm a sensitive princess but I swear I can see and feel the seams where the 15lb felt meets. I have prefinnished 2-1/4 solid oak flooring. layed perpendicular to the joist. The paper is layed parallel to the board.

In the second room I did, I layed the paper perpendicular to the boards and I think this works better (seams are not visible throught the boards), other than the fact that you have to lay out all the paper before you start.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, I have been called on the carpet about this very situation, right here in the forum. They thought I was crazy.

One more reason to go "site finished" flooring.
(Boy! Am I going to get it for that one!)
